T

he Jakarta Transportation Agency office at the Lebak Bulus bus terminal in South Jakarta has been sealed after one of its employees, identified by the initials MS, was allegedly caught taking illegal levies from a bus driver.

"We have named him a suspect," South Jakarta Police criminal unit head Comr. Budi Hermanto said as quoted by kompas.com on Wednesday.

The police, however, are reluctant to elaborate further on their findings.

Lebak Bulus bus terminal head Simon Ginting claimed MS was caught red-handed while he was working at the terminal.

"It's a procedure for the buses that when they enter the terminal, the authorities check on their licenses. [However] upon returning the license, MS charged the bus driver Rp 10,000 [US 72 cent] instead," said Simon.

Simon was also questioned by the police. (dea)
