Adisty Nilasari works in a field that is highly affected by the advancement of information technology. As the media relation manager of PT Unilever Indonesia, her job requires her to keep in touch with many people, anytime and anywhere. She chooses gadgets that help her connect with people and receive information easily.
As her office adopts the concept of agile working, where the employees can work from anywhere, Adisty holds her two smartphones close at hand.
“Smartphones are very useful. If I accidentally leave my phone [at home], I will return to retrieve it,” she said, adding that she loves to access her social media accounts and checkout online shops on her mobile phone.
Adisty said she still uses her laptop to make presentations and edit documents, but she simply relies on her mobile phone to reply emails and browse the latest news.
“It’s very amazing to see how fast the information spreads nowadays,” she said.
With the fast and large quantity of information that is circulating on the internet, Adisty said she still trusted the news produced by reliable media.
“Filtering the information we receive by comparing it with reliable sources is very important,” she said.
Samsung S6 Edge and Apple iPhone 6
I use these smartphones mainly for communication purposes, whether to communicate with my work colleagues or access social media. I use my iPhone for personal use and my Samsung for work.
I like WhatsApp because it is fast and reliable. It also has features to send files and make video calls. I have group chats consisting of work colleagues, too, so it’s easy for us to communicate.
Path and Unite
I have several active accounts on several social media platforms, but the one that I like the most is Path. I like its privacy settings because I can share anything, from pictures to locations, and adjust the setting so that they can only be seen by my inner circle. I also use Unite, an internal social media channel used by Unilever’s employees.
Go-Jek
I rarely use online transportation, but I often order food via Go-Food. It’s very helpful during traffic jams or when I am not in the mood to go out.
