The Health Ministry announced 8,369 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Thursday, bringing the total number of infections nationwide to 557,877.

According to data released by the ministry on Thursday, 156 more people have died of the disease, bringing the death toll to 17,355.

The total number of recovered patients has also increased to 462,553.

The ministry reported that 45,479 people were tested on Thursday, bringing the total number of people tested to 3,952,752.

The capital city recorded 1,153 new confirmed cases, bringing the total tally to 140,238. Meanwhile, Papua reported 1,755 new cases, West Java 1,648, Central Java 767, East Java 564 and Central Kalimantan 313.

The virus has spread to all of the country's 34 provinces. (kmt/kuk)
