Embracing healthy lifestyle Lim Chet Ming, PT AIA FINANCIAL’s chief marketing officer, along with Iko Uwais, Indonesia’s action actor and martial arts athlete, speak at a press conference on the launch of #WhatsYourWhy Campaign, a collaboration between AIA and AIA Global Ambassador David Beckham, to implement AIA’s commitment to helping people to live longer, healthier and better lives.

mbracing healthy lifestyle can definitely keep one healthy.  There are many ways to prevent disease, such as visiting a hospital or a health clinic for a medical checkup and immunization, as well as taking vitamins and herbal medicines.

There are those who even spend millions of rupiah per month on purchasing nutritional food or mega vitamins, but those are far from healthy habits. They do not care about the food they eat, nor do regular exercise, and let stress control their lives. Consequently, they are highly vulnerable to disease, leaving them unhappy. And the worst thing is they die easily.

Healthy habits are vital for maintaining a youthful and attractive appearance. The habits require us to live an orderly life, keep clean, eat a balanced diet, exercise regularly, get enough sleep and remain optimistic. Embracing healthy lifestyle does not need huge funds. And yet, as mentioned before, there are those who want to replace healthy lifestyle with consuming costly vitamins and nutritional foods. It should be borne in mind that healthy lifestyle is irreplaceable; they cannot be replaced by medicines even though medicines are also useful.

Caring for healthy living, publicly listed pan-Asian life insurance group AIA Group Limited has teamed up with David Beckham through a major new campaign in the Asia-Pacific region, #WhatsYourWhy.

This partnership reflects the commitment of both parties to helping people live longer, healthier and better lives.

David Beckham undertook the AIA Healthy Living Tour during the week of Sept.18, visiting Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore and Malaysia.

The #WhatsYourWhy campaign features a new video that was directed and filmed by Academy Award-winner Wally Pfister on location in Bangkok.

It conveys personal stories of people and their motivations for leading a healthy lifestyle, including why Beckham himself leads a healthy life.

The film, still photos, behind-the-scenes interviews with Beckham and other original content will be distributed via multiple platforms, including digital, out-of-home, broadcast and live events.

Understanding that health is about diet as much as exercise, the AIA Healthy Living Tour will also place a focus on healthy eating. In all of the markets that Beckham visits, AIA will arrange events to showcase in a fun way how popular Asian dishes can be served in healthier ways.

"We are delighted to be formally launching our partnership with Beckham through the AIA Healthy Living Tour and the #WhatsYourWhy campaign, which highlights the many reasons why people want to live a healthy life," said Stuart Spencer, AIA Group's chief marketing officer.

The campaign speaks to AIA’s strong commitment to partnering with its customers in 18 markets around the Asia-Pacific region to help them take steps to lead a healthier life.

Meanwhile, Beckham said he was very excited to be part of the campaign, which he hoped would resonate with people looking to maintain a healthy lifestyle and take charge of their health.

"It is important that people understand the reasons why they want to be healthy, and the new campaign provides insights into my own motivations to take steps every day to live a healthier life. In doing so, I hope that more people make the connection between healthy living and achieving their goals in life," Beckham said.

AIA Indonesia's chief marketing officer, Lim Chet Ming, said that the campaign can encourage Indonesians to consider why they want to live healthy.

"The reasons can be a motivation to maintain a healthy lifestyle in the midst of everyday activities in an aim to live longer, healthier and better lives. As the fact that we found in AIA Healthy Living Index Survey 2016 reveals, Indonesian people are not satisfied with their health and lack of exercise," Lim said.

In March, AIA entered a multiyear agreement for Beckham to become the company’s global ambassador. In this newly created role, Beckham will be present at a number of AIA’s most important community and business activities to personify and demonstrate the benefits and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

These will include events for AIA's customers, agents, partners, employees and the broader community. For more information, visit www.whatsyourwhy.aia.com.
