Outdoors – bringing urban and natural landscapes together through design

This line is inspired by the coexistence of artificial structures with nature in urban designs. The most familiar example would be floating houses in the canals of Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

A new frontier that has grabbed international attention lately is the ongoing construction of a waterfront development in Lower Manhattan, New York, the United States, which is designed specifically to mitigate impacts of natural disaster and is slated to be finished in 2022.

The line comprises various items catering to different activities. One of them is the Blocktech parka, which protects you from cold wind and rainfall while on a beach or moving along a waterfront. The dry sweat pants allow you to move around flexibly, making them suitable to wear during physical exercises and when you travel on foot.

The ultraviolet cut parka – foldable to pocket size – is very light and practical, suitable to carry around in your bag, so that you can put it on should the air temperature shift during your commute to work. The modern and light silhouette of the parka turn it into a reliable choice for your day-to-day activities.

Uniqlo also offers a long parka of parachute raw material, which looks shiny like the reflection of still water or light bouncing off skyscrapers.

Work and Craft – back to basics

Responsible consumption and production patterns form the core of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The attempt to leverage urban farming produce for local consumption is key here in order to reduce the carbon footprint in urban settings all the while reducing transportation costs and food waste.

Urban farming, which is usually done on rooftops, can also reduce noise pollution while protecting elements of city life to make urban living more comfortable.

Inspired by urban farming, for the Work and Craft line, we focus on organic materials: For instance, the cargo jogger pants are suitable to wear to work, with their casual silhouette allowing you to still wear them to tend to your garden after work. We also strive to reduce the environmental impact of the denim jacket and jeans manufacturing processes by creating authentic and stylish cuts. A washed effect, the crumples and folds and the irregular cuts are inspired by the diversity of forms of urban farming produce.
