eat & Livestock Australia (MLA) and Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ) are pleased to announce their latest collaboration as part of the MLA’s global program Aussie Beef Mates, which brings together food professionals from Japan and Indonesia for a culinary celebration at Mercure Jakarta Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) in North Jakarta.

Themed "From Tokyo to Jakarta Culinary Journey", the event sees Chef Hiroki “Hulk” Kato from Japan and Chef Edi Pancamala from Indonesia combining their culinary talents to create a series of delectable dishes featuring Australian beef from Queensland, highlighting the versatility and quality of Australian beef.

This event will also serve as a platform for these two Aussie Beef Mates to share their knowledge, culinary experiences and passion for quality food, all the while igniting culinary inspiration and elevating Australia’s world-renowned beef to new heights in Indonesia’s vibrant market.

Christian Haryanto, Chief Representative of MLA Indonesia, said: “MLA is proud to collaborate with TIQ and these esteemed chefs to showcase the exceptional quality and versatility of Australian beef, especially from Queensland. This partnership aligns with our commitment to introduce an innovative taste exploration with the marvelous beef creations, highlighting the versatility and rich flavors of Australian beef.”

Culinary enthusiasts can look forward to a fusion of Asian culinary creations by Chef Kato and Chef Edi using superior Australian beef. Their menu features exquisite dishes such as Australian Wagyu Katsu Sando, Samurai Yaki Soba and Australian Wagyu Beef Belly Bowl. Each dish is meticulously crafted with care and expertise to accentuate the rich flavors of Queensland beef.

Available exclusively at Mercure Jakarta PIK from May 8 to 30, diners have a unique opportunity to indulge in these exceptional culinary creations.

Boyd Whalan, Indonesia Commissioner at Trade and Investment Queensland, said: “TIQ is committed to unlocking greater access to established and emerging international markets through initiatives like this with MLA. This collaboration not only promotes Queensland beef, but also showcases the hard work of our farmers to produce high-quality beef that is in demand worldwide.”

In addition to its exceptional quality and taste, Australian beef is also renowned for the ethical practices that form the core of its production. Australian beef producers prioritize animal welfare in ensuring that their livestock lead stress-free lives. Australian beef is also halal certified, giving peace of mind to Muslim consumers who adhere to specific dietary requirements.
