hildren who are remarkably clever and gifted will typically show signs of their high-intellectual capacity at a young age. However, a majority of those signs are not recognized until they begin school.
Here is a list of traits and habits in children aged 5 to 8 years old that may demonstrate unusually exceptional intelligence and talent, as reported by kompas.com:
1. Your child thinks abstractly, in which she comprehends advanced mathematical and linguistic concepts and is able to talk about complicated issues, such as ethics, morality and religion.
2. A strong ability to concentrate for a long duration of time is seen in your child if he or she engages in a single activity.
3. A specific talent, for instance to calculate and solve complex mathematical problems in his or her head and grasp concepts, like division or calculus, prior to being taught in school.

4. Your child performs outstandingly in her academics ahead of her grade level, and is confident with his or her achievements and ideas.
5. A leader among others: initiates games and organizes group work or activities.
6. Your child has creativity in drawing, composing songs and telling stories.
7. Has a sense of humor and the ability to appreciate wit, as well as favors spending time with older children and adults.
8. Your child has excellent memory and appropriately recalls memories during relative situations.
