hile Facebook has previously announced Snapchat Story-like features in apps such as Instagram, Whatsapp, and even on Messenger, the tech company is still not done getting on the Snapchat bandwagon.

Facebook Stories is their latest announcement, with the Snapchat clone now integrated into the Facebook mobile app itself.

Facebook Stories, a feature that lines the top of the Facebook mobile app with photos and videos that disappear after 24 hours, has been quietly released over the course of the last couple months, but will not be available to all users yet. It was first rolled out in Ireland back in January, and will be coming out in Chile, Greece and Vietnam.

Messenger Day, the Snapchat-like feature in Facebook’s messaging service, was just released to all last week. But according to Tech Crunch, the new service was not appreciated by quite a few of Messenger’s billion-plus monthly users. Complaints revolved around the fact that there was no option to hide the Messenger Day bar floating at the top, even if one did not want to use it.

Still, both Facebook Stories and Messenger Day may be introducing the concept of 24-hour disappearing photos to the 1.7 billion mobile users that don’t use Snapchat or Instagram, so there is still room for an audience. But if neither of those catch on, Facebook still has the success of Instagram Stories. (sul/kes)
