s any weight gain quickly becomes apparent around the stomach, the abdomen is easily one of the most focused on areas for those who want to stay in shape.

Moreover, fat around the abdomen is one of toughest to tackle, even with sit-ups and other exercises, as it calls for extra hard work to get those enviable toned abs.

However, some types of food are also helpful for maintaining good shape and reducing excess weight around the stomach. According to tempo.co, here are four types of food that can help you stay in shape.

Cinnamon

This spice is loaded with antioxidants and can help you control your blood sugar levels, which subsequently affects insulin levels and controls appetite. The easiest way to add cinnamon to your diet is to sprinkle a dash for aroma in a hot beverage. You can also add it to meals by integrating it in the recipe of the main course.

Avocado

While the fat content in avocados is slightly higher than other healthy foods, research has found that the monosaturated fat in the fruit can help control cholesterol and blood sugar levels. It is also loaded with potassium, which helps turn nutrients into energy. Avocado is also filling as it's high in fiber, vitamin B and amino acids.

Eggs

Eggs, especially the whites, are rich in protein and can help burn fat. Adding more protein-rich foods into your diet is important as it can help make you feel fuller for longer. Eggs are also low in calories, and studies show eggs are a good source of vitamin D. (liz/kes)
