Members of the Jakarta Morris Club (JMC) are slated to celebrate the silver anniversary of their community.
wners of classic Mini Cooper cars are slated to gather in Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) cultural park, East Jakarta, on Sunday, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Jakarta Morris Club (JMC), according to kompas.com.
Around 40 Mini Cooper owners have confirmed that they will attend the event, with some coming from as far away as Bandung, West Java, said JMC head Uut Ananta.
The gathering will include a fundraising event for Lombok earthquake victims in West Nusa Tenggara, as well as a ceremony to award pins to senior members of the JMC.
“The pins are a way to say thank you to those who established the JMC 25 years ago,” Uut said.

Since its establishment, the JMC has changed leadership eight times. The community intentionally chose to name themselves the Jakarta Morris Club without specifying the Mini Cooper model, so it can include owners of other Morris cars, such as the Morris Minor or Morris 1100/1300. (mut)
