he Dewa 19 reunion concert in Malaysia will go as planned, despite the absence of its key member, Ahmad Dhani, the concert promoter has confirmed.

“We would like to announce that the Dewa 19 Reunion Feat. Ari Lasso & Once Mekel Concert at Stadium Malawati Shah Alam on Feb. 2 will proceed as planned,” the promoter, Nizra Production, announced on its Instagram account on Tuesday.

The band’s former vocalist, Ari Lasso, also took to Instagram to assure the fans and ticket buyers about the concert.

“Nothing will change, although our brother @ahmaddhaniofficial cannot join us. See you at #dewa19 #dewa19reunionmy,” Ari wrote in the caption.

On Monday, Ahmad Dhani was sentenced to 18 months in prison for hate speech in connection with his tweet inciting people to attack supporters of former Jakarta governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama.

He is imprisoned at the Cipinang detention center in East Jakarta while his defense lawyers are preparing to appeal the verdict.
