This is a comment on a letter “Impact of the sex videos” (the Post, June 29) sent by Ningtyas.
I have been coming/living here for 20 years. What about the porn videos sold in Kota years ago, where the sellers don’t care if a child buys a VCD or DVD, this is the real evil.
And yet again the people who produce and distribute those porn movies should be the ones punished. For the case of the “Trio”, it’s clearly the culprit who “sold” Ariel’s video.
Do you think the cases you are referring to happened because of this video. Indonesian society is hypocrite about sex. Everyone condemns “free sex” but most of them do it, why were the House members, where the sex videos were on their cell phones, were not prosecuted?
Or why are officials allowed into strip clubs with foreign hookers
infiltrated with the help of immigration which is otherwise “tough” when
it comes to a tourist overstaying one day?
