Telecommunication giant Telkomsel said it would block 800,000 pornographic websites during the Ramadan fasting month in response to a government request.
Telkomsel president director Sarwoto Atmosutarno said Thursday the company had filtered the adult sites through its proxy server, or gateway, which automatically denies its customers access to the web sites.
Telkomsel’s Internet users looking for the banned sites will be presented with a warning: “Access is
denied due to security policy enforcement”.
“The block will be implemented in stages and will affect all devices that use Telkomsel’s for Internet
access,” Sarwoto said as quoted by kompas.com.
Your comments:
It is no problem. Lots of porn sites are still around on the Internet. I cannot tell you where but just check other search engines, but don’t use Google and Yahoo.
If you can find porn right now that’s not your problem but Telkomsel’s problem.

The block is a sign of how strong religion (especially Islam) influences political decisions in Indonesia. After the Soeharto regime the country decided to be more open minded to the world.
Don’t copy Iran or Saudi Arabia copy other countries like Singapore, Taiwan or Japan.
