AKARTA: The Jakarta administration and the Organization of Land Transportation Owners (Organda) have agreed on a fare of Rp 5,000 for the new air-conditioned Kopaja buses.
“The tariff should be Rp 5,158 but we lowered it to Rp 5,000,” Jakarta Transportation Agency head Udar Pristono said Friday.
However, he said that the new tariff will only come into effect after the issuance of a gubernatorial decree. Before then, the buses will still operate at its current fare of Rp 2,000.
He added that the new tariff, which was also discussed at the Jakarta Agency for the Economy, applies to all medium-sized, air-conditioned buses.
“It’s not only for Kopaja; if there are other [bus] operators that have air-conditioning in their buses, then they will be required to apply the same rate,” he said.
