Media conglomerate MNC Group, in cooperation with the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), has launched MNC36, a new stock index.
The group's president & PT MNC Investama Tbk CEO, Hary Tanoesoedibjo, and IDX president director Ito Warsito jointly announced the launch of the new stock index at the Indonesia Stock Exchange Building in Jakarta, on Wednesday.
The MNC36 Index consists of 36 carefully selected stocks that are listed on the IDX. The index will be calculated using the weighted average market capitalization method.
The stocks are selected by a committee reflecting outstanding companies that posses, among other things, strong fundamentals and market capitalization.
At the same occasion, the name of PT Bhakti Investama Tbk was officially changed to PT MNC Investama Tbk.
The stock code remains unchanged as 'BHIT'.
'The launch of the MNC36 Index underlines the realization of MNC Group's commitment to participate in Indonesia's dynamic capital market by providing an index that can be used by market participants to gauge stock performance and as a reference in selecting stocks with high growth prospects and strong fundamentals,' Hary said in an official release made available to The Jakarta Post, on Wednesday.
