n a bid to provide better services to investors, the Boyolali regency administration has officially moved its offices to a new integrated compound in Kemiri subdistrict, Mojosongo, from its previous location, Jl. Merbabu 48.
Boyolali Regent Seno Samodro said that placing the administration's working units all in one compound would make it easier for those wanting to invest in the regency.
'Public services as well will be improved,' said Seno, who was sworn in in 2010 with a vision of pro-investment for Boyolali.
The offices unofficially moved to the new location in August following the completion of the regent office building worth Rp 5.24 billion (US$451,000).
The five working units that have since been built in the new compound are: the offices of the Inspectorate, the Investment License and Integrated Service (BPMP2T), the Regency Development Planning Agency (Bappeda), the Regency Asset Wealth and Income Agency (DPPKAD) and the Food Security and Managing Supervisor Agency (BKPPP).
Five other buildings expected to be built this year are: the offices of the Regency Legislative Secretariat, the City Hall, the Education Youth and Sport Agency, the Woman Empowerment Protection and Family Planning (BPPPKB) and the Fishery Service Unit.
'Not all the office buildings have been built. The rest will be proposed next year,' Seno said.
In total, there will be 22 working unit offices in the new office compound, with a total budget of Rp 142 billion, covering an area of 13 hectares.
The former regent office compound, according to DPPKAD head Widodo Al Munir, would be rented out as a source of income for the regency administration.
He added that as of now, the regency administration would not sell the assets.
'Although we don't need to ask for a permission [to sell the assets] from the provincial administration because the assets completely belong to the regency administration, approval from the regency legislative council, however, is needed,' he said.
