icrosoftfounder Bill Gates is currently in Indonesia to meet with a group ofbusinessmen and for charitable purposes. According to Indonesian tycoon DatoSri Tahir, Gates will make a US$ 40 million donation.

The donation will be endowed upon the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, led by Coordinating People's Welfare Minister Agung Laksono.

Besides Gates, he said, eight Indonesian tycoons would respectively donate $5 million to the initiative.

'So the donation from eight of us will be equal to the donation made by Gates,' Tahir said as quoted by tempo.co on Saturday.  

He said that as much as 75 percent of the donations would be allocated for efforts to tackle malaria, dengue fever and birth control in Indonesia.(dic)
