The Cilandak Police arrested a parking attendant on Sunday after he allegedly assaulted a man in South Jakarta last Friday.

Cilandak Police chief Comr. Sungkono told reporters that the victim, Bambang, was assaulted after withdrawing money from an ATM.

'€œThe alleged perpetrator threatened Bambang and his girlfriend. He said, '€œIf you don'€™t have any money, don'€™t park here'€™,'€ Sungkono said.

The parking attendant then attacked Bambang, who sustained bruises to his cheeks and lips as well as a wounded hand. When Bambang'€™s girlfriend, Amalia, tried to stop the attacker, she got slapped in the face.

Sungkono said that if convicted, the assailant could face five years in prison under Article 352 of the Criminal Code on assault.
