he Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) closed on a positive note in Friday's final trading session, rising 0.37 percent to finish at 5,227.58.
Shares of blue-chip companies traded on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) strengthened by 0.44 percent to 890.65, Antara news agency reported.
The volume of trade by 4:00 p.m. on Friday involved 5.2 billion stocks in 203,128 transactions with a total value of Rp 6.9 trillion (US$ 579.6 million).
IDX data revealed 169 stocks strengthened in the closing session while 125 stocks weakened and 89 stocks remained stable.
In the regional market, Japan's Nikkei and Hong Kong's Hang Seng jumped 1.58 percent and 0.57 percent, respectively.
Meanwhile, the domestic currency appreciated by 20 basis points to 11,970 per US dollar by 4:00 p.m on Friday, up from the previous Rp 11,990 per dollar. (nfo)(++++)
