P

ieces of a human bodysuspected to be a victim of mutilation were found in a retention pond in Genukdistrict, Semarang city, Central Java.

The pieces were initially found in a plastic bag by children as they were playing around the site on Friday last week. Locals only learned about the children'€™s discovery on Thursday and then reported it to the police.

Police collected the eight body parts that same day and then drained the five-meter-deep pond to find scattered bones. They have not found the head of the victim.

'€œWe will further examine the bones and the pieces of the body. Currently we cannot yet make any conclusions,'€ Genuk Police chief Adj. Comr. Ifan Taufik said at the crime scene on Friday.

He said the police announced the finding through the local mosque'€™s loudspeaker, but no one has come forward to claim having lost a family member.
