AKARTA: Model and actor Nicholas Saputra says he has had to endure a physical transformation for his role in the upcoming epic Pendekar Tongkat Emas (Golden Scepter Knight).
For the movie, helmed by Ifa Isfansyah, Nicholas has to keep his hair long and tan his fair skin.
'I have to tan two to three times a week to get a darker complexion,' the 30-year-old told tribunnews.com on Sunday. 'It's hard because my skin quickly recovers to its original complexion.'
Nicholas said he also had to learn the silat fighting and went deep into the character for the movie, which has an old-time Javanese setting.
'The shoot took three months, the longest I have done by far,' he said.
