Energy and Natural Mineral Resources Ministry director general for minerals and coal R. Sukhyar said the government was still revising Government Regulation No. 23/2010 on a downstream coal industry, which would be used as the legal basis for the program. 'The amended regulation will be issued soon,' Sukhyar said as quoted by Antara in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Under the new draft regulation, there will be four types of downstream coal, namely coal with higher calorific value, coal gas, liquid coal and coal in the form of slurry used for small power plants.
The amended regulation will be strengthened by a new ministerial regulation from the ministry, which will set coal prices.
