AKARTA: Singer Jemima wants to keep growing and maturing as a musician, producing honest songs, which she says she has been able to do so far.

She has just released her latest single, '€œTaboo'€, which was written by Anin Dimas and features guest jazz musician Indra Aziz.

'€œIn the future, I want to challenge myself to create simpler works, ones that people can understand more easily. Up until now, my lyrics have been very metaphorical,'€ she said. Another challenge the 29-year-old wants to tackle is writing lyrics in Indonesian.

'€œAlthough I'€™ve lived overseas for a long time, I'€™m still an Indonesian, so I have to be able to write songs in Indonesian,'€ she said.

'€œTaboo'€ is Jemima'€™s first single under her new label, Universal Music Indonesia. Jemima made her debut as an independent artist in 2011.
