oreign Minister Retno LP Marsudi summoned Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Indonesia Syeikh Mustafa Ibrahim Al-Mubarrak on Tuesday over the bombing of an ammunition warehouse that damaged the Indonesian Embassy in Sana'€™a and injured diplomatic staff and an Indonesian citizen who were in the embassy during the incident.

"I asked for an explanation over what happened in the embassy on April 20 because on March 26, Indonesia had provided details of the coordinates of our premises in Sana'€™a," she said as quoted by Antara in Jakarta on Tuesday.

The minister summoned the Saudi Arabian ambassador on the sidelines of her bilateral meetings with several foreign ministers from Asian and African countries participating in the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Asian-African Conference.

Retno asserted that in line with international regulations, properties belonging to a diplomatic mission in a country involved in a conflict must be protected. The minister said she very much regretted the bombing.

Based on information from Sana'€™a, the embassy and Wisma Indonesia buildings suffered 80 percent damage as well as vehicles parked at the location. Two diplomatic staff members and one Indonesian citizen, who was taking refuge in the location, suffered injuries.

Retno said she had asked the Saudi Arabian ambassador to explain what action his government would take regarding the damaged property belonging to the Indonesian embassy.

"He promised that he would convey my concerns to the Saudi Arabian government in Riyadh," she said. (ebf)(++++)
