paramotor, a powered paraglider, crashed to the ground during a performance in the Medan Airshow 2015 at the Suwondo airbase, Polonia, Medan on Sunday, killing one and injuring several others.
Airbase spokesman Maj. Johni Tarigan said the victim, identified as Ali Amran, died after being treated at Siloam Hospital.
Johni said the incident, which happened at 1 p.m., was believed to have been caused by a change of wind direction, making the paramotor suddenly lose height and hit a tent.
'Some visitors were also injured during the accident, including the pilot who suffered wounds to his mouth,' Johni told The Jakarta Post.
He said the accident occurred during the closing day of the four-day airshow, which was attended by participants from several countries, including from the United States, Germany, Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia.
