akarta Police arrested dozens of Chinese and Taiwanese citizens hiding at a shophouse in Pantai Indah Kapuk in North Jakarta on Tuesday.
Jakarta Police criminal investigation director Sr. Comr, Heru Pranoto said the foreign nationals were arrested for not possessing immigration documents.
"[The operation] is to help the Law and Human Rights Ministry's immigration directorate general," Heru said as quoted by kompas.com.
The police are still in the process of data collection and investigation. "We will announce [the findings] soon," said Adj. Comr. Herry Heryawan from the police's crime and violence unit.(++++)
