Major Minor

When three popular fashion brands '€” Major Minor, Hunting Fields and (X)S.M.L. '€” presented their latest spring/summer collections, they charmed fashion lovers with their fresh yet laid-back looks.

Through their new collections, the brands showcased their respective translations of simple yet elegant fashion.

Major Minor rocked the runway at the recent Plaza Indonesia Fashion Week with a collection combining tenun woven textile of Bima, West Nusa Tenggara, and art deco architecture influence.

The collection borrowed bold colors from Bima tenun '€” represented in the use of colorful fabrics.

Zigzag beading used in some pieces in the Major Minor collection were inspired by art deco architecture and Bima tenun.

The Major Minor'€™s spring/summer collection emphasized comfort and elegance, as seen in the loose cut of lines as well as in the play between modernity and traditional elements.

For this season'€™s collection, the brand, founded by prominent artisan Ari Seputra and Sari Seputra in 2011, plays with pink, yellow, red and blue alongside black-and-white dresses, tops, bottoms, jumpsuits and sheer outfits.

One of them, a strapless red gown, was a bold fashion statement for the attention-seeker, while the sheer suit '€”white top with black sheer jacket and sheer pants '€“ called out to the confident ones.

The collection stays faithful to the brand'€™s DNA, offering clean-cut pieces in eye-popping colors that represent an individual who'€™s into preppy yet slightly quirky fashion while remaining innovative and dynamic.

Hunting Fields carried on with the bold colors and irregular cuttings in its collection titled Amorphous in this year'€™s summer/spring collection.

Hunting Fields

The brand, led by fashion designer and stylist Raiky Pasya, explained that Amorphous is a material that explains varieties, changes and revolution.

Hunting Fields presented four elements '€” light, fluid, texture and volume '€“in its collection, which comes in various colors, from soft pastels to a touch of iridescent metallic.

To complete the look for Amorphous, simple yet elegant headpieces, matched with metallic leather sandals, were presented to direct focus to the garments.

Hunting Fields applied a particular pleating style to represent uneven surfaces, with gathers and ruffles, which make it possible for many shapes and sizes to wear.

And to accentuate the amorphous atmosphere, the brand featured illustrated gemstone prints on the fabrics '€” done by talented illustrator Ykha Amelz '€“ in its semi-fitted skirts, tops, pants, sweaters as well as knee-length and maxi dresses.

(X)S.M.L presented its spring/summer collection, called Kaze, which was mainly inspired by dreams.

In its latest collection, the brand presented a concept that marries the harshness of reality and the softness of dreams.

The collection utilizes the fresh variations of hard and soft elements as well as classic cuttings with cool and bright colors within sleek, clean and contemporary silhouettes.

'€œWe'€™d like to take everyone back to childhood '€“ the time when we didn'€™t know what fear was and how harmful it could be,'€ (X)S.M.L said in a statement. '€œThis time around, we want to be able to dream while still being touched by reality.'€
