meeting of the Golkar Party's Bali provincial branch held by the Agung Laksono faction at Aston Hotel in Denpasar was attacked by a group of people wearing black shirts.
The attackers, believed to be loyalists of the Aburizal Bakrie faction, tore down
banners near the hotel in an attempt to foil the meeting.
Dozens of riot police officers were deployed to the scene.
Kompas.com reported that before the attack, security personnelasked the group to disperse to no avail.
