he Defense Ministry kicked off on Wednesday the seventh Indo Defense international weaponry exhibition, hosting 850 defense companies from 45 countries.
"This year's theme is in line with the government’s effort to achieve the maritime fulcrum," Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu said in his opening remarks at the event themed: "Bolstering Defense Industry Corporations: Achieving a Global Maritime Fulcrum and Secure World".
As the expo brings together small and big weapon producers, Ryamizard considers the event a good opportunity for participants to learn from each other.
The exhibition is a biannual defense expo that began in 2004. On the sidelines of the three-day exhibition, organizers have also arranged seminars to explore technology transfer among participating countries. (bbn)
