View all search resultsfter spending nine days perched on a high-voltage power-line tower in North Jakarta, Agustinus Woro, 49, was finally brought down by officers of the North Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency on Tuesday.
Five officers from the agency were involved in the hour-long operation to remove Agustinus from the 60-meter tower.
“Thank God, we removed him at 2.15 p.m. Agustinus is conscious but a bit weak,” said agency head Satriadi Gunawan on Tuesday, as quoted by kompas.com.
Agustinus took the initiative to come down and asked the agency’s officers to assist him, Satriadi said.
Directly after he arrived on the ground a medical team provided him with oxygen.
“Agustinus will be taken to Koja Hospital for a medical checkup,” Satriadi added.
Agustinus has climbed several advertising hoardings and power-line towers throughout the city in the past, albeit for shorter periods. (wnd)
