PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) has moved the departure of 24 trains away from Gambir Station on Saturday.
The measure was taken to avoid traffic congestion around Gambir Station due to the event Pesta Rakyat Untukmu Indonesia (People’s Party for Indonesia) held at the National Monument (Monas) in Central Jakarta.
KAI Regional Operation (Daop) I senior public relations manager Edy Kuswoyo said passengers, whose trains were scheduled to depart from 7 a.m. to 7.15 p.m. could depart from Jatinegara Station in East Jakarta.
“We aim to support passengers by allowing them to reach their trains from both Gambir Station and Jatinegara Station,” he told wartakota.tribunnews.com on Saturday.
“The train schedules have not changed. We’ve deployed additional officers to help passengers,” he added.
