ore than half of travelers are apparently still working during their holidays, according to a recent survey conducted by hotel operator Holiday Inn.
The survey also found 55 percent of respondents had canceled or pushed back their holiday due to professional duties, and only out of 10 respondents were truly able to enjoy their holiday without thinking about work at all.
Around 30 percent of travelers who continue to work during holiday said they did so by checking their emails after their children went to sleep. The study also suggested that most of these parents hailed from Japan, Southeast Asia and India, while 47 percent of parents from the Middle East even went as far as cancelling or putting their family holiday plans on hold because of work. Related to this, around 23 percent of young respondents said they “feel sad when parents are working during holiday since they are hoping to spend more time or play together with them”.
