ravel enthusiasts are invited to hunt for discounted travel packages, airline tickets and hotel charges through the online travel fair, Festival Jalan-Jalan, from Nov. 21 to 27.
“An online travel fair will help travelers as it could be accessed from everywhere,” Harris Thajeb, the country CEO of the event's initiator Dentsu Aegis Network, told a press conference on Monday, adding that travelers could expect to find travel fares with "competitive prices" for year-end holidays during the period.

Sponsored by travel site Traveloka, Google Indonesia and e-commerce site Blibli.com, with Bank Mandiri as official bank partner, the festival features daily deals, destination deals and a "traveler type" category where users can find packages tailored to their traveling preferences. Once they have selected the wanted deals, users will be redirected to the relevant travel partner websites to finish the transactions.
Among the offered promotions are a Rp 1 million (US$74.4) discount on airline tickets from Traveloka, up to a 30 percent discount on purchases done on AirAsia's mobile app and Jakarta-Tokyo round trip tickets for Rp 4 million++ with ANA from via.com.
The event expects to welcome 2 million visitors during its operational period. By Monday afternoon, up to 60,000 users reportedly had accessed its website. (kes)
