ourism Ministry is conducting Labuan Bajo Tourism Network Reinforcement meeting at Laprima Hotel, Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) on Nov. 23 - 26.
“The goal is to synchronize all tourism industry players as a way to promote Labuan Bajo and strengthen the network of related industries in 10 Priority Destinations. It is also to prepare Labuan Bajo as a world-class destination,” explained Tourism Ministry’s archipelago tourism marketing development deputy Esthy Reko Astuti.
“We use the ABCGM formula: Academician, Business, Community, Government and Media. These five elements need to work together and support each other in order to build a professional and conducive tourism industry,” she added.
The event is attended by 100 participants including HPI West Manggarai, PHRI West Manggarai, ASITA West Manggarai, travel agents, West Manggarai tourism and culture department, public figures and Indonesian Charms Generation (GenPI).
The head of Association of the Indonesian Tours and Travel Agencies (ASITA) Labuan Bajo, Evodius Gonsamer who attended the event mentioned about the need to improve the digital infrastructure, especially Internet, in Labuan Bajo.
There are 125 boats available in Labuan Bajo, which is equal to 500 rooms for tourists to use as accommodation.
“If there are around 95,410 tourists who come, then 30 percent of them will stay on a boat for three to four days before returning to Bali or their own countries,” said the representative of PHRI West Manggarai Silvester Wangger.
