Are you interested in joining Hong Kong PolyU? Follow these steps to apply...

Step 1

Students must choose their program of study. The application enables applicants to choose more than one study program preference. Some selected programs, however, will only consider applicants who include their schools/departments on top of their preference list (see website for details).

Step 2

Students must check their eligibility. To apply for PolyU programs, students must meet the university’s English language and academic requirements.

Step 3

Students must prepare the relevant documents:

  • A copy of academic transcripts issued by their high school; national/international examination results and predicted grades for their upcoming examination issued by their school (if applicable).
  • Other supporting documents (if applicable).
  • Scholarship application form.

Some programs may ask for additional documentation.

Step 4

All applicants are required to pay an HKD 450 (US$58.05) application fee.

Step 5

Students must log in to the system frequently to check for updates. They will be informed when additional documents are required. An interview may be necessary, and this is usually arranged online.

Step 6

Successful applicants will receive their admission offer online. Admission results are usually announced from late January to May. Scholarship results will be announced at the same time.

International admissions

Undergraduate program applications for the September intake of the 2021 academic year has commenced. PolyU Entry Scholarships remain open for application on a rolling basis, and applicants are encouraged to apply early. International students can fill out their online application here.

Students can gain a range of financial assistance for participating in the international student exchange. Eligibility and amount vary across destination and duration.

Their faculty/school/department may also offer scholarships to eligible students to help cover some of the expenses, such as flights and accommodation or living expenses. Students must check for these details.

PolyU recognizes the achievements of outstanding prospective and current students. Applicants who wish to be considered for the PolyU Entry Scholarship should complete an application form via eAdmission. Those who are awarded scholarships will be notified when they are offered a place at PolyU.

This scholarship is for students who have performed outstandingly at secondary school, prior to studying at PolyU. An interview is required for scholarship applicants. Recipients of this scholarship will receive up to HK$ 195,000 per annum to cover tuition fees, accommodation fees and portion of living expenses. Scholarships are renewable every year subject to academic standing in PolyU.

Meanwhile, international students also speak highly of their experiences studying at the Hong Kong Poly U.

“The PolyU Entry Scholarship subsidizes my full academic school fees, which is of great help to me and my family as an international student,” said Sum Xin Yi from Singapore, who studies Fashion and Textiles at the university’s Fashion Design school.

Separately, Igor Ivankin from Russia, who studies International Shipping and Transport Logistics in the university, said the university was conveniently located at the center of the city, allowing him to explore various major attractions in town and to go any parts of the country.

There is also Pavithra Senevirathne from Sri Lanka, who studies hotel management in the university. She said her brother’s recount of his experience studying in Hong Kong had made her want to pursue her love for the hospitality world, which she developed growing up in a family with a hospitality background. Her experience, it turned out, did not disappoint.
