A new online crowdsourcing platform aimed at assisting jobseekers, jobplanet.com, officially launched in Jakarta on Thursday.
The platform provides jobseekers with crowdsourced information about staff welfare, company culture, strengths and weaknesses of potential employers based on assessment and reviews submitted anonymously by employees. Information available also includes salary standards and lists of interview questions.
According to Jobplanet regional director Kinam Kim, the platform was first launched in South Korea in April 2014, and the Indonesian version has been operating since August this year.
'In Indonesia, within only four months, we've been able to list around 20,000 companies, sign up 200,000 members and share around 80,000 reviews on our database,' Kim told a press conference on Thursday.
Jobplanet Indonesia chief product officer Kemas Antonius said that real information about companies, salaries and frequently-asked interview questions was rarely available to jobseekers.
'We think that everyone [should have access to this information] as they have the right to be happy and to feel satisfied in their work,' said Kemas.
He added that all the reviews posted on jobplanet.com were reviewed and approved by the platform's administrator team prior to being published.
The company reportedly secured Series A investments from Born Angels, Altos Ventures and Qualcomm Ventures in early 2015 with total disclosed funding of US$9 million. (kes)(+)
