n Tuesday, Bank Mandiri, in collaboration with the Finance Ministry’s State Assets Directorate General (DJKN), held an e-auction for non-performing loan collateral with the theme of "Gema Auction 22-2-22". With the event, Bank Mandiri hopes to continue developing breakthroughs in asset management to optimize resulting returns.
A total of 834 collateral assets with a limit of more than Rp 1 trillion will be auctioned through the State Asset and Auction Service Offices (KPKNL) throughout Indonesia. They are available through Indonesia's auction site lelang.go.id and Bank Mandiri's official auction website lelang.bankmandiri.co.id. All assets are under the management of wholesale and retail segment debtors that are declared non-performing or even bankrupt.
The auction was an initiative to improve the quality of the best assets to support sustainable business development, according to Bank Mandiri deputy president director Alexandra Askandar.
"Auctions for Mortgage and Auctions for Execution of Fiduciary Guarantees play a large part in maintaining financial health in the banking sector, especially within the handling of non-performing loans. Therefore, we need to hold a good auction that is swift, quick, efficient and accountable," stated Alexandra in the event's hybrid opening ceremony at Plaza Mandiri, Jakarta.
Meanwhile, Bank Mandiri's director of risk management Ahmad Siddik Badruddin said Bank Mandiri had ensured the eligibility of the assets, both physically and legally.
"Despite the large-scale public activity restrictions, auction participants can still access the best assets according to their needs with the integration of Bank Mandiri's auction portal with that of the DJKN's. This integration also helps smoothen the virtual auction process without having to be physically present," Siddik said.
Furthermore, Siddik asked that all related parties in Bank Mandiri continue to maintain its coordination with the State Assets Directorate General and the State Asset and Auction Service Offices throughout Indonesia while continuing its efforts to educate customers and promote the auctions' success rates. He also encouraged those parties to strengthen their relations with the National Land Agency for their help by providing Land Registration Certificates.
Through the joint effort, Bank Mandiri was able to book excellent asset returns, with Bank Mandiri's revenue from the results of auction and pre-auction sales reaching more than Rp 100 billion from the beginning of this year.
"Interestingly, this simultaneous auction won recognition from the Indonesia World Records Museum as the largest simultaneous auction ever held," Siddik concluded.
Bank Mandiri's director of risk management Ahmad Siddik attended the ceremony. At the same time, State Assets Director General Ronald Silaban and nationwide State Asset and Auction Service Offices were also virtually present.
