or those wishing to spice up their weekend with more shopping sprees and star-spotting, Plaza Indonesia has just the right solution.

On every last Saturday of the month, the classy shopping center in the heart of Jakarta is lashing out a "Saturday Night Out at the Plaza" event comprising exciting entertainment shows and a lineup of special offers for the avid shopper.

The fun-filled "Night Out" program is celebrated all through Plaza Indonesia's premises, starting from the buzzing Entertainment X'nter (eX) to the mall's new retail extension area and all the way to the Miniapolis children's playground on level 3.

"Night Out" is a concept developed from the success of Plaza Indonesia's previous late-night shopping programs. It is set on the last week of the month to anticipate any shopping needs arising right before the Car Free Day initiative on Sunday.

Among the extras that can be enjoyed by shoppers during a "Night Out" are up to 50 percent discounts at selected retail stores. There are also magic and musical performances from today's hottest stars working up to entertain the crowd.

Parents are more than encouraged to bring their children along and let them savor all the fun kids' activities already prepared at The Plaza. During "Night Out", children are entitled to a free ride on Mr Kirck's train at Miniapolis after the family spends a minimum of Rp 250,000 at any F&B outlet in Plaza Indonesia.

Last Saturday on May 30, 2009, the "Night Out" fun began as early as 4 p.m. with a colorful Kids' Hat Parade starting at the Miniapolis playground. A number of kids' necklace, mask and frame decorating competitions followed.

Later into the night, another parade commenced in the form of an international carnival going through all the corners of Plaza Indonesia, the mall's new retail extension and eX. Leading up the parade were dancers donned up in various national costumes, all of whom ended up at the new Plaza Indonesia atrium level 4 at exactly 8 p.m., where singer Rio Febrian had been waiting to take the stage.

Around 9 p.m., a number of people also began to gather in and around Lamoda Caf* in Plaza Indonesia when Demian the Illusionist showed up to perform a couple of daring magic tricks. Demian called in a number of people from the audience to help him perform and had RioRhythmix support him with various musical and lighting effects.

While Damien wrapped up his show, the crowd once again moved to Plaza Indonesia atrium level 4 to tune in to the smooth singing voice of Glen Fredly through to 10 p.m. Nearby dining outlets contributed their share in the program by providing free finger food for everyone.

The "Saturday Night Out at the Plaza" program once again proved a great success as could be seen from the increasing number of cars and queues entering the shopping center every Saturday night.
