ARANGASEM: A number of Hindu high priests in Pura Besakih Mother Temple in Karangasem regency, East Bali, conducted a special ritual to get permission to cull stray dogs hanging around the sacred Hindu temple.
At least 45 dogs were culled by the local husbandry office following the rabies outbreak in Karangasem. "The priest performed rituals praying the outbreak would spread throughout the regency," said Ni Luh Sukanadi, an official at the husbandry office.
