JAKARTA: After a series of dramas culminating in bouts of jail time for drug abuse, soap opera actress Sheila Marcia’s prison sentence will officially come to an end this weekend, newsportal detikhot.com reports.

“Sheila will walk out of the penitentiary this month a free woman,” said Mudarwan Yusuf, the actress’ legal representative on Monday night.

Twenty-year-old Sheila has served two thirds of her jail sentence and recently been released on parole for good conduct. North Jakarta District Court sentenced Sheila to seven months in prison for possession and abuse of illegal drugs earlier this year.

She has recently been on the infotainment news radar for allegedly escaping detention, stating she needed emotional support from her family after her pregnancy. – JP
