Bogor Police arrest runaway prisoner

B

OGOR: Bogor Police on Sunday arrested a prisoner who recently escaped from the local penitentiary.

Agus Gunawan, who was serving a four year sentence for his involvement in an aggravated assault case, managed to escape Paledang penitentiary on the 2010 New Year's Eve.

During the arrest on Sunday, Agus was shot by police officers in his left leg because he resisted the arrest.

Bogor chief detective Adj. Comr. Irwansyah said the police had deployed a team to track Agus down, immediately after realizing he had escaped. The team discovered he was hiding in Pandeglang, Banten.

"We're still questioning him," Irwansyah told tempointeraktif.com.
