AKARTA: A baby suffering from hydrocephalus, or excess liquid buildup in the cranium, underwent surgery at Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital on Friday.
The case of two-month-old Muhammad Toriq made headlines recently after it was reported he and his family stayed several night at a mosque near the hospital while waiting to get treatment.
The hospital denied it had neglected the baby, saying it lacked a proper ward to take care of him.
Former vice president Jusuf Kalla is scheduled to see the baby Sunday, according to Toriq's father Romi Dona.
