ost children would probably agree that no matter how generous Grandpa Santa is, the Easter bunny has the upper hand when it comes to letting children just be themselves, screams and all.
In fact, Easter has always been knowing as that time of the year when kids get to run wild as they join in the various exciting Easter games offered at the city’s coziest haunts.
For those wishing to share the joy of Easter with their little ones, here are some activities to look forward to:
Commemorating this year’s Easter Day, grandkemang Hotel Jakarta will be sharing the special moment with Indonesian children with cancer under the Indonesian Care for Cancer Kids Foundation, Yellow Ribbon Foundation, and the aspiring young artists of Tomato Art School.
Various areas of the hotel will be bejeweled by giant “Dinosaur” eggs designed and painted by the talented children from Tomato Art School. Meanwhile, a charity tree is erected in the lobby and a painting exhibition from young artist Abigail Imani is certain to make Easter time merrier for the family.
On April 4, grandkemang is serving Easter Sunday Brunch at Rp 215,000++ per person. Children dine for free and will be eligible to join the prize-laden egg hunt starting at 1 p.m. There is also the Tomato Art School Dino egg auction to watch out for — this may be your chance to own the work of a future maestro!
Plenty more eggs are on the prowl across the capital on Easter Sunday. In the heart of Jakarta’s CBD, The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place has the elegant “EGGsperience” brunch topped with kids’ activities and live music entertainment.
The brunch starts from Rp 328,000++ per person (inclusive of free flowing juice and iced tea) and Rp 148,000++ per child between five to 12 years old with a menu of crispy lamb carving, baked Chilean sea bass, maki rolls with warm toppings and scrumptious desserts.
Children’s egg hunt at The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place starts at noon and finishes with an Easter egg chocolate decorating competition supervised by the resident pastry chef.
If you’d like to reward your little ones with some smashing outdoor fun, then the Jakarta Restaurant & Garden at The Dharmawangsa is the place to head to during the Easter weekend.
The Dharmawangsa’s Festive Easter Brunch is served from 11:30 a.m. on April 3 and 4 with colorful egg hunts, floating rubber house, sparkling tattoos and kites ready to keep your children occupied.

Priced at Rp 198,000++ per person and Rp 120,000++ per child, the whole family can enjoy a delicious Easter feast at Gran Mahakam while joining some rabbit runt, trampoline jumping, Easter train ride, face painting, temporary tattooing, and other fun activities.

Hop over to Sailendra for the Easter Brunch on April 4, a part the proceeds of which will be donated to Rumah Sahabat Anak Puspita, a local shelter for street children.
