OGYAKARTA: Coordinating People’s Welfare Minister Agung Laksono is expected to launch a three-day anti-AIDS campaign meeting in Yogyakarta on Monday.
Some 1,500 participants from provinces and regencies are attending the event hosted at Inna Garuda Hotel.
Media center spokesperson Ajianto Dwi Nugroho said the participants had already been involved in several supporting events, including a forum for ODHA (People with AIDS) and another for social change.
Ajianto said a plenary session would give the participants time to reflect on the anti-AIDS and HIV campaign in Indonesia as well draw up plans for the next four years.
“The session will discuss projections for 2015 and evaluate the Presidential Decree on National Commission for AIDS Control,” he said on Saturday. Minister Agung Laksono, Health Minister Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih and Home Affairs Minister Gamawan Fauzi are expected to speak on AIDS-related topics.
