ndonesia has enjoyed the visits of a number of world-class musicians over the past few months, thanks to the country’s vibrant economy and conducive security conditions.
Big Daddy event organizer president director Michael Rusli said businesspeople see a growing market, including in the entertainment industry.
“Asia is a growing market and this region is gathering more attention in the world of business, especially in Indonesia, because we share a population of 230 million people,” Michael said.
Those who regularly attend concerts in Indonesia, especially those who live in Jakarta, have so far enjoyed the positive energy of a number of quality concerts and will continue to enjoy more throughout the rest of this year.
Sir Elton John, Richard Marx, Simple Plan and Chris Brown are among the many artists who will soon entertain Indonesian audiences. Canadian band Simple Plan will also perform in Surabaya.
Noting the hype displayed by many anticipating concerts, promoters said that the business outlook was very promising. However, bringing such international singers and bands to the country is not an easy job and security issues remain a special concern.
The deployment of thousands of police officers and military soldiers, if necessary, was a concern promoters had to think of and organize for to ensure the events would not only happen, but more importantly, proceeded safely.
“Security is a very crucial issue during a concert,” said Dino Hamid, CEO of Berlian Entertainment.
In addition to security, international-class artist almost always demand very sophisticated equipment and tools to support their stage performances. “We usually rent sound systems and lighting from Singapore,” Dino said, adding that he will bring Indonesia-born singer Anggun for a concert here.
