OGOR: The police set a new traffic pattern in the Puncak resort during the holiday season, effective from Friday until Jan. 1, 2012.

“We will impose an incidental traffic reroute … The existing rerouting system is not valid during Christmas and New Year holidays,” said Bogor police traffic unit chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Syarif Zaenal.

In the existing traffic pattern, imposed on Saturday and Sunday when heavy traffic is expected around the Puncak resort, police close the main road, Jl. Raya Ciawi-Cisarua, for one to two hours.

On New Year’s Eve, said Syarif, the police would close the road to Puncak both from Bogor city and Cianjur from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m.

“Holidaymakers wishing to celebrate the new year in Puncak have to make it there before the closing,” he said.
