AKARTA: BlackBerry’s manufacturer Research in Motion (RIM) is planning to open 4,000 outlets across Indonesia to strengthen its market position in Indonesia, a RIM executive said.
“We plan to establish 4,000 points of sale, for customers throughout Indonesia to try and buy BlackBerry products and services,” RIM senior public relations manager for Southeast Asia Oliver Pilgerstorfer said in a statement.
He refused to comment on the investment expenditures to open the outlets, but he said the initiative was in line with the BlackBerry retail store program, through which RIM opened dedicated BlackBerry stores with their key partners.
The new stores will be similar to existing locations in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta; Roxy Mas, Central Jakarta; and Gandaria City, South Jakarta.
