A bank teller counts a bundle of rupiah notes at PT Ayu Masagung in Jakarta on Thursday. The rupiah improved to Rp 9,437 per US dollar, after touching Rp 9,600 recently. Finance Minister Agus Martowardojo attributed the rupiah’s slide to the increasing number of companies using foreign exchange to pay dividends and bonds.
