etectives from the Taneteriattang Police precinct in Bone, South Sulawesi, arrested four people, two of whom were mothers, as they gambled early on Friday.
The two mothers, identified by initials as NIR, 26, and AGS, 40, said that they gambled to kill time before preparing sahur (pre-dawn meals). The other two are ANM, 34, and NRA, 26.
“We were just playing around. We did not want to oversleep and miss sahur,” Ags said.
Besides arresting the four gamblers, detectives also confiscated two packs of cards and Rp 60,000 (US$6.3).
“All of the perpetrators are now being detained,” said Taneteriattang Police precinct chief Comr. Ali Syahban, as quoted by kompas.com.
