ongtime rock band Slank is taking efforts to battle music piracy by releasing their new album in the form of a video album for cellular phones.

“I can guarantee that this is the first time in the world that a musician has done this. It’s usually [in the form of] a video clip or a live video...” Bimbim, the band’s drummer, said last Thursday as quoted by kompas.com.

The live videos were recorded using one-take methods in various places, guitarist Abdee said.

“The world is moving forward, all over the world the [method of using] CDs are already ruined. The cyber laws are also lenient for downloads from the internet. Nowadays, there are more cell phones than human beings. This is a new place for us [to market songs],” Bimbim said.
